As one of my most anticipated workshops every year, I can’t wait to take you on an unforgettable adventure to this iconic location in South Australia, just 430km north of Adelaide.

With ancient rock formations, majestic mountain ranges, deep gorges, and vast open plains, this region is a dream to photograph, especially as we explore the stunning Wilpena Pound Resort, our base for the workshop. What to Expect:

Over five days, we will explore the diverse and rugged beauty of the Flinders Ranges—a landscape that has been shaped over hundreds of millions of years. This is an experience that will ignite your creativity, giving you endless opportunities to capture jaw-dropping vistas and the timeless charm of the Ikara (meaning "meeting place" in the local Adnyamathanha language).

You’ll be guided through a variety of stunning locations, from rolling valleys to dramatic gorges, each offering unique perspectives and photographic opportunities.

• Bunyeroo Valley: Known for its winding, red-earth roads and majestic rock formations.
• Brachina Gorge: A geological wonder, home to ancient rock layers and wildlife.
• Blinman Township: A historic town that captures the essence of the region.
• Rawnsley Bluff: A breathtaking vantage point for sweeping views of the ranges.
• Aroona Valley: Famous for its iconic mountain landscapes and vibrant red soil.
• Glass Gorge: A lesser-known gem offering amazing contrasts and natural beauty.
• Moralana Gorge: A quiet, peaceful gorge full of photographic potential.
• Wildlife: Spot Kangaroos, Rock Wallabies, Wedge-tailed Eagles, and more as we journey through the park.
• A Scenic Flight: A 30-minute flight over Wilpena Pound, offering a bird’s-eye view of the region’s geological wonders and breathtaking landscapes.

Your Home Base – Wilpena Pound Resort

During this workshop, you’ll enjoy five nights of comfortable accommodation at Wilpena Pound Resort, where you’ll have your own private room. The resort’s stunning location means you’ll be right on the doorstep of the ranges, with plenty of opportunities for sunrise and sunset shoots from the comfort of your room or the resort’s surrounds.

• 5 Nights Accommodation at Wilpena Pound Resort (Superior Room) — Choose from a Single Room or Shared Room.
• All Transfers to and from Adelaide (Pick up on June 16th at 7:30 am and drop off on June 21st at 5:00 pm from Adelaide CBD).
• Private, Comfortable 4WD Vehicles for exploring the park and surrounding areas.
• Fully Guided Photography Tuition — Learn valuable skills while capturing the incredible landscapes and wildlife of the Flinders Ranges.
• Scenic Flight Over Wilpena Pound (30 minutes) — Weather permitting, this is an unforgettable opportunity to see the range’s geological wonders from the air.

Fitness Level:

The fitness level required is low to moderate. We will be walking on gravel paths and some stairs during our excursions, but all hikes and walks are gentle and relaxed, perfect for photographers of all fitness levels.
