Giant Myrtles of Tasmania

Cam Blake Photography

Nestled within a stunning forest region of North East Tasmania are these incredible examples of Nothofagus cunninghamii, or Myrtle Beech as commonly called.

This shot was taken in October 2021 during a very wet weekend which saw over 50mm of rain fall in this region in 24hrs. A lesser known spot to find these beauties, I captured this image with the Fuji GFX100s and 23mm f4 lens.

Exposure Details: f22 / iso 100 / 2.5 sec
