🍂 Bright, Victoria, is nothing short of magical in Autumn. With its stunning alpine roads adorned by the brilliant hues of Fall foliage, this charming country town in the heart of the Alpine Region is a photographer's dream come true. I’m beyond excited to host our Bright Autumn Photo-Workshop, and I can’t wait to show you why this town and its surroundings are some of the most breathtaking places to photograph in all of Victoria.

Why Bright?

Having spent my childhood in this very town, Bright holds a special place in my heart. From its vineyards to its quaint streets and the vast, colorful alpine landscape, I know Bright like the back of my hand. I’ll be guiding you to hidden gems and lesser-known spots that most people never see, giving you the chance to capture scenes few others get the chance to photograph.

This town, with its rich Autumnal color palette, will leave you in awe. From the glowing yellows and reds of the foliage to the picturesque mountain backdrops, there is no shortage of incredible photographic opportunities.

What to Expect:

We’ll be staying for 4 nights in luxurious accommodations right in the heart of Bright, allowing us to truly immerse ourselves in this vibrant, picturesque area. Throughout the workshop, we’ll explore some of the best locations for landscape photography that this stunning region has to offer:

• Mount Buffalo: Arguably Victoria’s prettiest mountain, with its sweeping views, granite peaks, and lush valleys — perfect for capturing breathtaking panoramas.
• The Buckland Valley: A photographer’s paradise, where kilometers of vibrant Autumn colors meet rolling hills and tranquil vineyards.
• Harrietville: A historic gold mining town full of charm and character, still holding onto secrets and stories from its past.
• Wandiligong (Wandi): This quaint little village might be small, but its photographic potential is huge. Expect to discover beautiful streetscapes and hidden gems.
• Mt Hotham & Dinner Plain: Historic alpine huts and stunning alpine vistas await, offering some of the most iconic photography scenes in the region.
• And Many More: We’ll also explore other secret locations, ones that are often overlooked but offer truly unique photo opportunities.

The Experience:

As your guide, I’m here to ensure that this workshop goes beyond just capturing stunning images. With my intimate knowledge of the area, I’ll show you how to photograph this incredible landscape like a pro. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just starting out, this workshop will be tailored to help you grow and develop your skills, with plenty of one-on-one time.

We’ll enjoy not only the beauty of Bright, but also the amazing food, wine, and beer that this region has to offer — making this not just a photography trip, but a celebration of everything that makes Bright so special.

Workshop Details:

• Start Date: 27th April 2027, meeting in Bright at 12pm.
• Accommodation: Stay in luxurious private cabins right by the Ovens River, in the heart of Bright.
• Meals: All meals included (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) at local restaurants serving the freshest, local produce.
• Transport: Private mini-bus for the entire workshop, making it easy to get around and photograph the best spots.
• Group Size: Small, with a maximum of 6 guests — ensuring a personal, intimate experience with plenty of 1:1 time.
• National Park Access: All the access passes you need for the beautiful national parks and reserves in the region.
• Photography Tuition: 4 full days of hands-on instruction, covering everything from composition to lighting to post-production.

Fitness Level:

• Low to Moderate: Most of the trails are easy to moderate. Some may include gravel paths or small stairs.
• What You Need: Just bring your passion for photography and a good pair of walking shoes. We’ll keep things relaxed, but we will be out exploring each day to capture the best shots.
